Of the 770,000 new displacements monitored year-todate, drivers include conflict and insecurity (190,000), drought-related (148,000), floods (416,000) and other reasons (16,000).
During December, the main driver for new displacement was floods (46,000) affecting mainly Middle Shabelle region. Ongoing military operations (7,000) continue to lead to new displacement within and from Lower Shabelle.
